Family Portrait Hamilton – Waine Family

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

When Betty phoned us to photograph her family, she did warn us about the energy of her family. This was going to be the first family portrait in quite sometime as one of her sons had returned home from Perth with their first Grandchild.

We thoroughly enjoyed our portrait session with the Waine family, lots of personalities and moments captured in time.

Women on Boards – Government Initiative

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

A few weeks ago one2one Photography was asked to tender for a commercial photography job to photograph a few key women in our locality.  We duly tendered for the job and won the contract for an initiative backed by John Key New Zealands Prime Minister.  On Friday last week we were asked to photograph 30 key women all around NZ on Boards, 21 of which are on the North Island.  Our schedules won’t allow for the South Island women, sorry but we have 3 weeks to complete the North Island.

We won the job because they said we had the most experience photographing women, no Copyright issues, speed of email replies and the overall professionalism of one2one Photography.  To think this job was given to one2one out of all the photographers in NZ is quite something to have achieved since landing here in NZ 5 years ago.

I will keep you all updated with our images on our travels.

Prime Minister’s statement

Our success as a country relies on every single New Zealander making the most of themselves and contributing to the best of their abilities.

We like to think that’s something we all have the opportunity to do.

But when you look at the small number of women in the boardrooms of New Zealand’s top businesses – only about one in every 12 company directors is a woman – you have to wonder whether Kiwi businesswomen are getting the opportunity to succeed that they deserve. And you have to wonder whether our companies are making the best use of the talent on offer.

Especially when you consider the evidence in this publication, which suggests that companies are more profitable when they have more women on their boards.

That’s an important idea that could lift the performance of many of our businesses.

This publication grew out of conversations between Business New Zealand, the Institute of Directors in New Zealand, the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, and the Minister of Women’s Affairs, Hon Pansy Wong. It’s a good example of how business and government can work together to come up with solutions that benefit us all.

I’d like to thank Business New Zealand and the Institute of Directors for taking the initiative and publicising the business case for more women company directors. It’s a message I hope every Kiwi business will take on board.

Family Portrait Hamilton – Wooderson Family

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

Every now and then we get an enquiry for something that is really quite simply, ‘we want a modern photograph of our family’.  As a photographer we sometimes need to leave our creative talents at home and listen to what has been requested. The Wooderson family traveled from all over the Northland for their portraits.  We captured over 25o images for the family and edited over 86 for them, all of which they got in full-resolution format.

Here are a few of my favourites.

School Ball Photography Auckland – Kingsway School

Monday, June 28th, 2010

On Saturday 23rd June, I photographed the school ball for Kingsway School, Auckland.

It was great seeing familiar faces from last year and also some new faces too. I love the energy and creativity Kingsway ball-goers bring to their School Ball, I capture more photos here than any other school ball, nearly 1500 images in 3 hours!

Here are a few of my fav’s.

Trash the Dress at the Zoo – Alison & Stephen

Saturday, June 26th, 2010

We photographed Alison and Stephen’s wedding on the 6 March this year at Auckland Zoo, Frank from one2one Australia flew in to do it for them.

Well….it was about 6 weeks ago that Alison emailed us asking if we do the old Trashing The Dress, Drown the Gown thing.  We replied that we did but none of this ankles in a stream arty farty photography, we want a proper Trash The Dress idea.  Great she said, because we are off back to the Zoo to wash and scrub down Kashin the Burma Elephant.  We jumped at the chance to do it.

These are a few of the images captured this morning.  As always, a great couple with a good sense of humour and a great sense of adventure.

Winter Portrait Photos – Molloy Family

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

Early June I photographed the Molloy family in Huntly.  We had waited some weeks to do the shoot for them just as the trees had completed the fall.

School Ball Photos – Whangamata

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

What a pleasure to be asked back again this year to photograph the Whangamata School Ball last Friday. They had an Alice in Wonderland Theme and what a great effort the ball committee made in decorating the venue.

Enjoy a few of my favs.

Winter Wedding Photography – Frith & Wade

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

Last Saturday I had a great day photographing Frith and Wade’s winter wedding.  They had been together 17 years and I wondered why they chose this particular winters day for their wedding.  I was informed, it was exactly 17 years to the day that they went on their first date – beautiful.

I should explain that Frith works in the Veterinary field, hence the images with the rabbit and her prize pig Stinky.

Anyway, we dodged the rain, the wind was relentless but we all had a great day.

Frith and Wade’s daughter Brodie, what a stunner

A great moment when Frith’s Mum Ann saw her daughter for the first time

That garter was always falling down at the most inappropriate moments!

Wade’s first look of his bride

Just love Brodie’s secondary reaction to her Mum and Dad kissing

Like mother like daughter

In the pig pen we go, and that garter is down at her ankles again!

Frith was determined to have a picture with Stinky the Pig

More costume malfunctions!

And no time like the present to get our Lotto ticket!

UK Wedding – Eugene & Kirsty

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

On May 28th I was in the UK to be Best Man at my mates wedding.  I now have a new found respect for being on the receiving end of a camera and Gary from one2one Photography UK did an awesome job.

Kirsty and Eugene met through Facebook, having once been ‘boyfriend and girlfriend’ over 20 years ago.  It was a small intimate wedding at the exclusive Cadbury House Country Club near Bristol.  They both have children and they completed their wedding day as a new family of 6.

Guys, I had a wonderful time, it was an absolute pleasure to be there to witness your marriage, you are an inspiration to all and evidence that true love is there for everyone.

Enjoy these few photos I’ve selected for you.
