Wedding Album Design Workshop

Thursday, January 27th, 2011

For a while now I have been wondering what we do about album design for our wedding couples and where the future is going with presenting and printing wedding images. Its great when I pop into our printers in Hamilton and see another large scale frame being designed and printed, but I know many couples get back into their busy lives and do very little with the wedding images.

So….we did a bit of research in November last year with 22 past wedding clients and a trend emerged, wedding albums were just too costly, or more to the point, not good value. We have posted a few things on Facebook about other options and when we look at our business in Canada, very few one2one couples order the traditional style of album with solid card type pages. ┬áThe growth has been in coffee style books and nearly 80% of couples order these in Canada.

We can offer Queensberry Albums, Bound to Last Albums and also coffee book style Blurb albums, the latter being from the USA and pictured below. They are great value but there is an element, as always, you get what you pay for.

So….we wondered if anyone would be interested in learning how we design our albums so I can show you how we do it. That way, you can design your own book and choose how you print it.

We will hire a room in at a Hamilton Hamilton hotel, probably in April, have a nice lunch and share the cost of the overheads between all attendees, probably about $100 each. Courses will be limited to a maximum of 25 people and one2one must have shot your wedding. You will need a lap-top, we will provide you with a working demo version of Photoshop and all you need to bring is your fully edited wedding images that we have provided to you. By the end of the day, you will have most of your album designed and ready for print.

If you are interested, email me at and we will take it from there.
